Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau has urged Trans Nzoia residents to support President William Ruto’s development agenda, citing roads, healthcare, water, markets and affordable housing as key priorities for the county.
Speaking during Ruto’s visit to Endebess, Trans Nzoia County, Bisau called on residents to rally behind leaders championing development, saying government investment was critical to addressing local challenges and improving livelihoods.
“We have been asking when the President would come. Now he has come, and we are happy to welcome him,” Bisau said, welcoming Ruto’s visit as an opportunity to push for development projects in the region.
The MP urged residents to support government initiatives, arguing that political differences should not hinder the implementation of projects intended to benefit the public.
Bisau also highlighted healthcare challenges in the county, appealing to the national government to allocate resources to strengthen health services and improve access to medical care.
On land ownership, the Kiminini legislator said residents needed title deeds to secure their property rights. He pledged to follow up on the matter to help affected residents obtain the documents.
Road infrastructure, access to clean water, the construction of modern markets and affordable housing also featured among the development priorities he raised during the address.
Bisau used the occasion to appeal for support for his gubernatorial ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election, linking his bid to the need to address Trans Nzoia’s development challenges.
He challenged residents to consider whether they wanted Ruto to return to the region to commission a market and launch affordable housing projects, drawing responses from the crowd highlighting roads, hospitals, water and housing.
Later in the evening, Bisau presided over the official closing ceremony of the 2026 Kitale Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show at the Kitale Showgrounds, marking the end of the three-day event.
The show, held under the theme “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” provided a platform for exhibitors to showcase innovations, products and services aimed at promoting agricultural development and economic growth.
Bisau also witnessed a football match between St Anthony’s Senior School and Kipkeikei Boys before presenting trophies to winning teams across various disciplines.
