Relief for Trans Nzoia Dairy Farmers as New KCC Pays Sh300 Million Milk Dues

Milk farmers who supply their milk to the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries (New KCC) have welcomed the clearing of long-standing payment arrears amounting to Sh300 million, terming it a major boost to the dairy sector.

Trans Nzoia County commodity representative of The Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF) Tom Nyagechanga praised the new management for the move, saying the payment has brought relief to hundreds of farmers.

“We want to sincerely thank the New KCC management for paying the arrears for milk that farmers had already supplied. The Sh300 million payment has come at the right time,” Nyagechanga said.

He noted that delayed payments had previously strained farmers’ operations, making it difficult to meet production costs and household needs.

“Many farmers were struggling because of delayed payments. This money will help them buy feed, pay workers, and continue with milk production without disruption,” he added.

Nyagechanga urged the New KCC to sustain the momentum and ensure timely payments in the future.

“Going forward, we expect consistency and transparency. Prompt payment will restore confidence and encourage more farmers to supply their milk,” he said.
