Westlands MP Aspirant Akidiva Calls for Unity and Purpose-Driven Leadership

Westlands parliamentary aspirant Ambassador Ken Akidiva has urged Mulembe Nation leaders to reject divisive politics and unite around economic transformation, youth empowerment, and inclusive leadership.

Speaking during a community address, Akidiva said leaders must replace political rivalry with collaboration to address challenges facing the region.

“The politics of division must give way to the politics of purpose. For too long, our people have been fed on promises that expire at the ballot box. The future we have been waiting for is not a distant dream—it is happening right here, right now,” he said.

Akidiva called on leaders across the political divide to put aside personal interests and focus on solving problems affecting residents.

“Let us stop competing against each other and start competing for the progress of our people. If we consolidate our strength, foster genuine dialogue, and back our words with real, measurable action, there is no boundary we cannot cross. Our people deserve leaders who solve problems, not leaders who create new divisions,” he said.

He said leadership should focus on service and inclusion, adding that communities cannot progress when they remain divided along political and clan lines.

“True leadership is not about securing a seat at the table to look down on others; it is about pulling up more chairs so that everyone has a voice. We cannot build a strong community by constantly fracturing ourselves,” Akidiva said.

The Westlands aspirant identified youth unemployment, lack of business capital, and poor infrastructure as key issues requiring urgent action.

“When a young person is jobless, they don’t suffer as a member of one party; they suffer as a Kenyan. Our focus must be on creating opportunities, supporting entrepreneurship, and investing in the future of our youth instead of engaging in endless political battles,” he said.

Akidiva described young people as central to Kenya’s economic future and pledged to support initiatives that promote innovation, skills development, and wealth creation.

“Do not let anyone tell you to wait for tomorrow. You are the engine of our economy, the innovators of our technology, and the keepers of our collective hope. We must build structures that nurture your skills, expand local production, and give you the tools to create wealth,” he said.

He concluded by calling for unity within the Mulembe Nation, saying collective action would strengthen the community’s social and economic progress.

“Let us unite with one focus, one heartbeat, and one vision. Together, we are an unstoppable force. If we stand together and remain committed to the progress of our people, there is no challenge we cannot overcome,” he said.

Akidiva’s remarks come amid growing political realignments within the Mulembe Nation, including the emerging alliance between Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, a partnership that supporters say signals a new direction for regional politics.
