Kwanza Aspirant Wants President to Ac on Rising Cases of Police Misconduct

President William Ruto has been urged to rein in the rising cases of police abuse of power being witnessed across the country against innocent Kenyans.

Kwanza Parliamentary aspirant Nicholas Tsyamba observed that incidents in which police officers are using unjustified force on peaceful citizens are worrying.

“The President is a symbol of national unity, and he took office to protect the lives and property of all Kenyans, regardless of their political affiliation,” said Mr. Tsyamba.

He cited an incident in which congregants at a church in Othaya were targeted while attending a service that was also attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, terming it shameful.

“The Cabinet Secretary in charge of Internal Security, Kipchumba Murkomen, and the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, owe Kenyans an explanation over these disturbing incidents,” he noted.

He called on the government to cultivate a culture of respect for the rule of law, where Kenyans suspected of breaking the law are prosecuted through legal channels instead of being attacked.

Tsyamba also urged politicians to observe decorum while carrying out their activities to ensure they operate within the confines of the law.
