Kiminini Member of Parliament has defended National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) against allegations that they are being used to campaign for leaders allied to the ruling party in Trans Nzoia.
The MP was responding to remarks by area governor George Natembeya whoaccused the area County Commissioner Gideon Oyagi of being involved in political meetings associated with the (UDA) despite being a civil servant.
Speaking during a bursary distribution event in , Bisau dismissed the claims and urged leaders to respect government administrators who represent the national government at the grassroots level.
“NGAO officers handle security matters and are representatives of the national government at the grassroots level. They should be respected,” said Bisau.
The legislator spoke while issuing bursary cheques worth Sh1.3 million to 325 students from secondary day schools in Sikhendu ward.
During the event, Bisau also criticized the county administration led by Governor Natembeya, arguing that it had delivered little development despite receiving significant funding.
According to the MP, the county government receives about Sh13 billion annually, yet key sectors continue to face major challenges.
“There is poor performance in health services, water connectivity, road infrastructure, and Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE),” he said.
Bisau further encouraged residents to support development projects initiated by the national government, describing them as essential for improving livelihoods and accelerating growth in the region.
“Let us unite and support initiatives that genuinely improve the lives of our people. Retrogressive politics will only hold us back,” he emphasized.
The remarks add to the growing political tension between leaders aligned to the national government and the county administration in Trans-Nzoia as debate over development and governance intensifies.
