Saboti MP Caleb Amisi Declares 2027 Re-election Bid on People’s Renaissance Movement Ticket

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has announced that he will seek re-election in the 2027 General Election on the People’s Renaissance Movement (PRM) ticket, declaring that he will no longer contest under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which he said has been “hijacked” by President William Ruto.

The second-term legislator said he was seeking a final term as Saboti MP before pursuing his presidential ambitions in the 2032 General Election.

“I will be seeking a final term as MP before seeking the presidency in 2032. You have supported me for the past two elections under ODM, but this time I will be running on the People’s Renaissance Movement ticket,” Amisi said.

He appealed to Saboti voters to back his bid, saying he had served all residents equally over the past two terms regardless of their political affiliation or ethnic background.

“I have served every resident diligently without considering their political or ethnic background, and I ask you to support me once again,” he said.

Amisi spoke at CBM Masinde Muliro Senior School in Kitale, where he handed over a school bus funded through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), of which he is the patron.

Turning to national politics, the legislator, who is set to be unveiled as the leader of the People’s Renaissance Movement, said the outcome of the recently concluded Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election signalled growing public dissatisfaction with President William Ruto’s administration.

According to Amisi, the defeat of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate demonstrates that the President faces an uphill battle ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“Those who have been spreading the narrative that President Ruto will be re-elected should now know that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission will not declare him the winner when we defeat him next year,” he said.

The Saboti MP also urged residents of Trans Nzoia County to turn out in large numbers on Saturday to welcome Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who will lead the Linda Mwananchi rally alongside other opposition leaders in the county.
