Transglobal Agency Expands Opportunities for Kenyans Seeking Work and Study Abroad

A growing number of Kenyans are securing jobs and education opportunities abroad through private recruitment agencies, with Transglobal emerging as one of the firms facilitating placements in countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, and Poland.

Speaking during an interview, Transglobal Director Bethuel Tarus said the company has already helped more than 500 Kenyans relocate overseas for work and studies, noting that many beneficiaries are now settled and supporting their families back home.

Tarus explained that the agency partners with international universities to place students in various programs, including certificate, diploma, degree, and master’s courses. He added that the firm also assists applicants with visa processing to ensure a smooth transition.

“We work closely with institutions abroad to help students secure admission into courses of their choice, and we guide them through the entire visa process until they travel,” he said.

The director noted that beyond education, the agency is increasingly focusing on job placements, particularly for professionals such as teachers and nurses. He highlighted Australia as a key destination currently experiencing high demand for teachers.

“To qualify, teachers must have a degree, at least one year of experience, and pass the IELTS English proficiency test, which we also offer training for at our offices,” Tarus stated.

He emphasized that while age is not a strict limitation, younger applicants tend to have better chances due to longer career prospects.

Tarus also revealed that the company supports Kenyans seeking employment in Gulf countries such as the United Arab Emirates, where workers can travel under employment visas that guarantee jobs, salaries, and employer details before departure.

“For those unable to afford destinations like Australia, the Gulf offers a starting point. They can work, save, and later transition to other countries,” he said.

The agency maintains offices in Kitale and Kapenguria and says it operates in collaboration with the Government of Kenya and destination countries to ensure compliance with legal and migration frameworks.

Tarus urged job seekers and students to verify agencies before engaging them, stressing that transparency and government recognition are critical in avoiding exploitation.

“One of the key things is our track record. The people we have placed abroad are doing well, and we have not had cases of failed placements or disputes,” he said.

He further pointed out that scholarship opportunities are available for students, significantly reducing the cost of studying abroad, especially for those who may not meet direct university entry requirements.

According to Tarus, even students with grades below C+ can enroll in diploma programs abroad and progress academically, provided they begin the application process early.

On global trends, Tarus observed that ongoing conflicts in some regions have disrupted sectors like tourism but created demand in others, particularly security-related jobs. He projected that post-conflict recovery could open up even more employment opportunities for Kenyans as labor shortages emerge.

He encouraged interested applicants to take advantage of the available opportunities, noting that international migration for work is currently more accessible compared to pursuing advanced academic programs abroad.

“Opportunities are there, and with the right guidance, many Kenyans can benefit and improve their livelihoods,” he said.
