Saboti MP Caleb Amisi Seeks Third Term Outside ODM, Cites Political Discrimination

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has asked residents to support his bid for a third term under a new political outfit, claiming he has faced discrimination within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Speaking at Lukosi during the commissioning of renovated classrooms at Lukosi Primary School, Amisi said the once formidable opposition party had lost direction following the political realignment involving ODM leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.

“I will be seeking your support for a third term in office, and I ask you to support me on whichever party I will come with since I am facing discrimination in ODM following the death of the party leader Raila Odinga,” said Amisi.

The legislator made the remarks during the launch of renovated classrooms funded through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), a project aimed at improving learning conditions and boosting academic performance for pupils at the school.

Amisi maintained that he would continue holding the Kenya Kwanza administration accountable, insisting that his role as an elected leader is to provide oversight and defend the interests of wananchi.

“I was not elected to become a bootlicker of the President. My duty is to provide oversight and speak for the people. That is why I was chased out of ODM,” he said.

The outspoken MP urged Saboti residents to remain politically united ahead of the 2027 General Election, warning that divided votes could weaken the constituency’s bargaining power and slow development.

“Do not spoil votes. Let us remain focused and united if we want development and strong leadership,” he told residents.

Amisi also declared his support for the re-election bid of George Natembeya in the 2027 polls.

Residents who attended the event welcomed the renovation of classrooms at Lukosi Primary School, saying the improved infrastructure would create a better learning environment for learners and enhance education standards in the area.
