Bisau Rallies Trans Nzoia Residents to Support National Government Development Projects

Kiminini Member of Parliament Kakai Bisau has called on residents of Trans Nzoia County to embrace national government development projects, saying they are key to accelerating infrastructure growth and improving livelihoods in the region.

Speaking at Nabiswa during a consultative forum convened by leaders allied to President William Samoei Ruto, Mr. Bisau cautioned residents against being misled into opposing national government initiatives to their own detriment.

“The national government has rolled out several development projects ranging from road construction, affordable housing, to rural electrification, among others,” Bisau said. “Residents should support these projects because they are meant to uplift the county’s socio-economic status.”

The legislator, who is eyeing the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat, emphasized the need for unity and cooperation between national and county leadership to ensure the successful implementation of government programs.

During the same forum, Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Samson Ojwang raised concern over education transition rates, revealing that about 450 students from the county are yet to report to Grade 10, contrary to the government’s 100 per cent transition policy.

“I am instructing chiefs to ensure all students who are yet to join senior schools are traced and assisted to report,” Ojwang said, noting that no child should be left behind.

Endebess Member of Parliament Dr. Robert Pukose, on his part, urged individuals interested in United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party positions in the region to prepare for a possible repeat election exercise.

“Among those to be elected will be 20 polling agents per polling station, who will later have a meeting with the President at State House,” Dr. Pukose said.

The meeting was attended by several leaders, including Trans Nzoia Woman Representative Lilian Siyoi, former Kiminini MP Dr. Chris Wamalwa, and former Health Cabinet Secretary Dr. Susan Nakhumicha, among others.

The leaders used the forum to rally residents around development, education, and political preparedness as the region positions itself for future national engagements.
