Saboti MP: Linda Mwananchi Won’t Reunite with Ruto-Allied ODM Faction

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has said Linda Mwananchi leaders will not be swayed into reuniting with the Linda Ground faction within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), despite continued reconciliation efforts.

Amisi stated that their group—comprising prominent figures such as Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino—remains steadfast in its political stance and will not fall into what he described as a trap orchestrated by President William Ruto.

“We are not moved by those extending an olive branch to us since we have our own cause, which is to oppose the re-election of President William Ruto,” Amisi said.

Linda Mwananchi Movement Stands Firm

Speaking during the commissioning of a new tuition block at Lukhuna Primary School, Amisi emphasized that the Linda Mwananchi faction is a formidable political force committed to championing the interests of Kenyans.

He further alleged that ODM has been compromised, claiming it is under undue influence from President Ruto.

“ODM has been taken hostage by Ruto, who is determined to politically silence those who criticize his leadership style,” he said.

Amisi Signals Possible Party Shift Ahead of Re-election

The legislator also hinted at a potential shift from ODM ahead of the next general election, urging his constituents to support his re-election bid under a new political party.

“I have been elected twice on an ODM ticket, but next year I will be seeking your support for re-election under a different party. My track record speaks for itself,” Amisi stated.

Defense of Uhuru Kenyatta

Amisi also came to the defense of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has recently faced criticism from allies of President Ruto over his continued involvement in politics.

“Let them face us and leave Uhuru alone. The problem is not Uhuru, but the disappointment Kenyans have experienced under this government,” Amisi added.
